The food at Ozzies is excellent!! No fuss, no frills, just good, honest well cooked grub, I eat there regularly and really enjoy the food. Try their roast Lamb or roast beef dinners, they are really tasty.

Lizzie - too bloody right!

Gastrogeek - Thanks! Yep, everyone is welcome at the local caff. It's also the only place my face is tolerated without make up.

Tracy - Ha ha, well do let me know what you think! It is a fascinating place for people watching I can assure you of that.

Eatlivetravelwrite - Brilliant! Glad to spread the love around a bit. Just don't say I said the food was amazing or anything, yeah? ;)

I've lived in Peckham for 6 years and have never been in Ozzie's, even though I must have walked past it a thousand times.
Next Satuday, me and the hubby are there!
I also had an invite to see the films but unfortunately couldn't make it. They sounded so interesting. Great to hear some feedback.

I totally hear what you're saying about having all the white people in your area congregate in one place and the Nigerian people (or in my case here in Whitechapel the Bangladeshi people) in another. Places like Ozzie's are a rare and vital part of the community, they should definitely be celebrated more often - brilliant post!

I agree - local caffs are a vital part of the community. None of this eggs florentine, egg white omelette stuff, but rather the greasy spoons where you can rock up in tracky bottoms and a hoody, peruse the papers and eat about a million calories in one sitting. Cornerstone of society!
