Sainsbury’s sell Sichuan pepper. (I think it’s the Schwartz range rather than their own-brand.)

LexEat – Hi. I think you can get it in larger branches of supermarkets. Try looking in the specialist section if it’s not in the spices. As Mr. Noodles suggests, Waitrose may be your best bet. Have you searched for an Oriental supermarket near you? I don’t know N London too well, you are right about that. Failing all that, if you don’t want to go into Chinatown – I would just order online.

Gastrogeek – I LOVE it! I am desperately not trying to get it too grubby as I borrowed it off a mate!

Gourmet Chick – Oh I am still addicted to pork don’t worry! Thankfully, there is a lot of pork in Sichuan cooking – probably why I like it so much.

Hey Helen – food looked delicious.
I’m in North London, so not sure if you can help me, but I’m trying to find sichuan pepper for a roast duck – any suggestions? I was hoping to avoid going into China Town after work.
