Mmmm, I love huevos rancheros – we had them quite a few times in Mexico in 2005 and I realyl shodul make them at home.

Impressive score on the list – although I’m quite surprised th see what you say about hare. The hare I had (well, Nick had it and I tasted copiously!) in Madrid was incredibly gamey. But that may also be because it was barely cooked – it was fillet of wild boar stuffed with venison stuffed with hare, and rare, so that the hare in the middle was very very rare. Quite something!

So many Pho virgins out there…I reckon a Chicken Pho is the best thing on a cold autumnal day – get yourself to Cay Tre on Old Street, Song Que on Kingsland Road or even one of the branches of Pho behind Oxford Circus or in Clerkenwell.

I’ve never tried Pho either; isn’t that outrageous?! Not through lack of trying though. Whenever I go to a Vietnamese restaurant I want to have it, but other dishes tend to take my fancy.

Your Huevos Rancheros look absolutely gorgeous. I have all the ingredients in the cupboards too…

There are several things I’ve never heard of – Hostesses something or other intrigues me. Must look that up.
Surprised that you didn’t find hare very strong. My colleague often eats mountain hare legs for lunch (tufts of fur still attached) as her brother shoots them. I find them really, really strong. To the point of unpleasant. Perhaps there’s a difference between mountain hare and normal hare…

Well done! I agree about the fugu and roadkill, although, I would urge you to consider trying the Hostess Fruit Pies. I hate to admit it, but I love them. (Please, don’t tell!)
